Welcome to Wokingham Borough Council and congratulations on taking the first steps in becoming part of something special.

Wokingham Borough has generated around a billion pounds in infrastructure investment as a result of concentrating development in four strategic development locations (Arborfield Garrison, Shinfield Parish, North and South Wokingham) and deliver over 10,000 homes.   This includes new schools, sports facilities, community centres, parks and open spaces, as well as a £124million strategic new roads programme.

We must continue to allocate enough land to meet demand through our new local plan which proposes to concentrate future development in a new garden town at Grazeley. Grazeley Garden Town is a proposed cross boundary Garden Settlement of substantial scale (approx. 15,000 homes) planned from concept to completion with its own unique identity within Wokingham Borough, West Berkshire District and Reading Borough. Grazeley Garden Town will be a national exemplar which will allow the area to grow in a sustainable, innovative and progressive way and that will create a fantastic, thriving place to live.

Wokingham Borough Council is an exciting place and career transforming place to work.  We already have an incredible team in place to drive this project forward. Our staff are committed to our long term vision and we are looking to recruit rising stars as we develop new opportunities for the right people to build a career with us.

I very much hope that you take this opportunity to apply to be part of our excellent team committed to providing high-quality delivery, planning, infrastructure delivery and highways and transport services and Wokingham Borough Council promises an opportunity to enable you to develop both personally and professionally getting involved in exciting work and projects.
